• GENEROSITY
• HUMILITY
Our Mission
Is to connect with God and with others, to build and be part of a community that seeks to care and to commit to a life of transformation. We value a growing, authentic community of people living transformed lives and making an impact because of Christ.
This journey shapes the start of a new and exciting ministry tool within Gracepoint. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
We believe that the Melrose area is in need of a dynamic and vibrant Church, with a solid and rooted foundation. The purpose statement that God has laid on the hearts of the leadership team at Gracepoint calls for an invitation of ALL people to faith in Jesus Christ. This is our hope. We believe that through the satellite model we are able to maximise the output of the Gracepoint Church body through the centralising of teachings, content, style, culture, character, worship and much more. The use of the same resources holds a huge weight, extending the talents within the team to touch more lives. A thorough process of investigation has been entered into with visits and mentorship from Discovery Church in the States, to dialogue and visits to Grace Church in Kwa-Zula Natal. After much consideration, the concept was agreed apon and the process of approval within the Methodist Church has been established. There is an excitement in the air.
HOW DOES GRACEPOINT MELROSE WORK?
One Church with many locations - there is one central hub, where:
• Preaching • Devotionals • Children’s Curriculum • Policies • Home Group Material • Creative design
and more are all put together. Each site will ultimately have it's own full time team including: • Children's Pastor • Youth Pastor • Worship Leader • Campus Administrator • Campus Pastor
along with a full volunteer team, as with any Church. A Church is made up of it’s people and volunteer work is critical.
GENERATION NOW (0-18)
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14 Gracepoint Melrose will have a fully active and alive children's and highschoolers ministry. Children's Curriculum will be prepared at our Glenferness Campus each week specifically written and prepared for our little ones. The unique and dynamically changing needs of our Youth will be catered for. Friday night programmes, confirmation, camps and more will be of high value for our youth ministry. All volunteers will be well trained and cared for as they minister to our Generation Now group.
The preaching component of each Satellite Church will be on screen. There will on occasions be live speakers, but on the most part whatever sermon happens at Gracepoint, Glenferness will be recorded or transferred via satellite to the various sites.
